Catholic Schools Music Festival
The Catholic Schools Music Festival is a showcase of talent from students within upper primary and secondary Catholic schools. Approximately 2000 students spend 7 months preparing for their moment on stage. Performances are held each September, with each evening featuring a large performing choir, instrumental ensembles, vocal groups and solo artists.
At St Pius X school, children from Years 5 and 6 are invited to join the choir. They are responsible for preparing for the festival as well as to perform at school gatherings and community events. The children learn about a variety of music genres, learn harmonisations, develop aural skills and regulalry perfom in front of a variety of audiences.
