Religious Education

At St Pius X School, we believe that all children are created in the image and likeness of God. We offer a Catholic Education that is underpinned by respect for human dignity. We work in partnership with families to foster the spiritual and faith development of their children.

Our faith is the foundation of our ethos, and we invite all members of our community into a relationship with God.

Whilst we teach in the Catholic Tradition, we are very respectful of other religious beliefs and approach our teaching with an openness to other cultures.

The Crossways Religious Education Curriculum

This program is taught across all year levels and supports the integration of faith, life and culture. It also provides a clear framework for the development of teaching and learning in Religious Education.

Made in the Image of God

Underpinned by the fundamental belief that we are all created in God’s image, this program teaches that we are all deserving of the utmost dignity and respect. It is delivered as part of an integrated curriculum approach with a significant focus during Term 3.

Sacrament Preparation Programme

We work in partnership with the parish in the faith formation of our children and invite all baptised Catholics to participate..

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered in Year 3, followed by  First Holy Communion and Confirmation in Year 4.
