Parent Involvement

As we educate our children, our school depends on a strong relationship between parents and staff.

Parent involvement helps the school and the children love to see their parents and grandparents involved in their class and their school.

There are a number of opportunities for parents and grandparents to be involved in St Pius X school and we warmly invite you to participate by volunteering to:

  • Listening to reading and other learning opportunities
  • Going on class excursions
  • Covering library books
  • Assisting with our intra and inter-school sports activities and competitions
  • Helping out with Learning Assistance Program
  • Helping out with the Canteen
  • Helping your child’s classroom and on excursions

To get involved in your child’s school, please speak with your classroom teacher. They’ll be excited to talk to you.

In the light of the Privacy Act, the Child Protection Guidelines developed by Catholic Education SA and legislation in Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare, we are continually reviewing the structures and learning programs at our school to ensure every child, parent, staff member and visitor at St Pius X feels welcome and safe. Only parents/caregivers who have successfully completed the screening processes, which include a Catholic Police Check, are able to assist with school related activities. These structures are strictly enforced. Volunteer Application Packages are available from the School Office.
